...I should be doing other things than writing Harry Potter Fanfiction, but I did it again anyway...Remus/Tonks because this pairing fascinates me for some reason. Since I first read about it.
„Remus?“ „Hmm?“ „You know, I’ve been wanting to tell you…I’ll probably be getting assigned fort he protection of Hogwarts again.“ “Really? That’s good. I wondered whether they’ll put someone there again…after all, it didn’t help much to have Aurors around there last time.” “Well, I don’t know that for certain, but I think Minerva might have had something to do with it. You know, Robards said it’s because I was the only one helping to defend the school that night.” “You don’t think he suspects why you were there, do you?” “No, I think he believes it was just a coincidence that I was patrolling that night. That’s why I was rather surprised when he asked me whether I want to go there again.” “But it’s a good thing. I mean, it might be a hard job, but probably better than regular field work these days. And Molly will be delighted to hear you will be there. She’s been worrying about her children when they’re at school.” “Yes, I guess you’re right. On both accounts. But I’m still not where I actually wanted to go with this, you know.” “What did you want to tell me, then?” “You know, I’ve been thinking…I’ll be doing these really long shifts all the time, and I don’t know whether I’ll be able to apparate back to London every evening. But I don’t want to spend another year in a small room in some pub or other…So I’ve been thinking on looking for a small house or a flat I could rent. And I wanted to ask…whether you’d come with me.” “You want me to move in with you?” “Well, yes. I mean, I know we’ve only been together for one and a half month, really…” “…but it would have been much longer if I hadn’t wasted so much time…” “…but I thought I’d ask you anyway. Because I would love to live with you, you know.” “We are, technically. We are paying the rent for two flats, but we always spend all our time together. Either you stay at mine or I stay at yours every day and every night. It wouldn’t make so much of a difference.” “So, would you come with me?” “Yes I would.” “I love you.” “I love you, too.”
*** “That’s it?” “Yeah. I know it looks kind of old, but you know, we can still use magic to make it all better.” “And Aberforth tipped you off about that being for rent?” “He did. He said the woman wants to move abroad. Far away from it all.” “And he thought about telling us? That’s very considerate of him.” “Well, I think he offered it to his goats first. But maybe they didn’t like the lack of meadow around it…or the paint peeling off everywhere. I hear they’re rather picky.” “Maybe we should first take a look inside, Dora. If it looks okay from there, we’ll take it.” “And if not, we’ll put up a tent? This is the only one for sale at the moment. Most people have barricaded themselves in their houses, and wouldn’t sell anything to someone they haven’t known all their lives.” “Well, if it’s too wrecked to be lived in, we won’t have any other choice than declining.” “Okay, we will. Let’s go inside, then. That woman is looking like she wouldn’t want to stay outside for too long.”
“Well, it looks way better from the inside. Maybe it’s really just small things we’ll have to renovate. But we could make something out of this, that’s for sure.” “We’ll take it?” “If you want to.” “It matters more what you think. You’ll probably spend more time in here than I will, seeing as I will be busy to walk around the village for hours, in order to fend off any attackers and praying that none will come.” “I think we should take it.” “So do I.” “Then it’s a deal.”
*** “How did you manage to get all that stuff, Dora? You probably own more shoes than I own things altogether.” “Well, I bought them, you know. And some of my things were presents.” “We should think about getting a bigger house. Something the size of Hogwarts, maybe…hey, no throwing shoes at me. Or you’ll be carrying this all by yourself.” “Alright, alright. But I don’t own too many things. I need these. Come on, I need clothes to fit every haircolour I can have. And shoes to fit these clothes.” “If I exasperatedly said “Women” now, would I get the other shoe of the pair?” “And we’ll be fine in the house. We have two spare rooms next to the bedroom. One can be your study, because everything we packed in your flat was books and parchments. And the other can be my dressing room, with all my shoes and clothes in there.” “Both Molly and your mother would now kindly remind you to keep in mind that we may have children one day, and they’ll need the room.” “I’ll take my stuff out of the room as soon as this day has come any closer. By the way, my books can go into your study, can’t they?” “I wonder whether we’ll ever be ready with carrying stuff over.” “We will. Only three more boxes, I think. Then I’m ready to leave.” “It’s such a relief we can do magic. If we couldn’t make all your boxes small and light and put them in one bigger box, we’d never make it there.”
“Now, are you ready to leave?” “Yes, but…you know, I’ll miss my flat.” “You haven’t really lived here for the most part of the last year.” “And yet I’ve lived there for two years before that. But you’re right. I’ll stop moping around and look forward to our new home.” “You know, I never thought I’d experience someone saying that. Our home…” “Don’t you start that self-piteous stuff again!” “I’m not. Let us leave.”
***
“Good morning, Dora. You need to go and get working. I made you breakfast.” “How do I deserve someone like you?” “The question is rather, how I deserve you. Come on, now.” “Will you be okay, all alone in the house?” “Well, I’ll of course miss you all day long, you little tease.” “Will you, now?” “Of course I will. And I think about writing a bit. I mean, first I thought you were insane to even suggest it, but I am beginning to like the idea of writing a book.” “I’m sure you’ll be brilliant once you start. Can I have some more coffee?” “Really? I don’t think you have enough time for that. It’s already two minutes to seven and you have to be in front of the Three Broomsticks at seven.” “Alright then. See you in the evening.” “Dora?” “Yes?” “Do take care.” “I always do. Love you.”
***
“I still can’t believe it. You really had a bath run for me when I came home.” “Maybe I have my own motives for that. Would you mind if I…came in?” “No, not at all. Why would I mind?” “I don’t know I…. oh. I actually intended to get out of these clothes first before taking a bath, you know?” “Maybe I didn’t want to wait that long.” “You’re impatient. And crazy. But I love you, you know.” “I love you, too.”
